Have a question?
Carpathia is Washington’s folk dance group that specializes in the dances of Central and Eastern Europe. We launched in Spring 2011 with dances from Romania, Ukraine, and the Roma (Gypsies). We have since added dances from Poland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Macedonia, with plans to expand to other neighboring countries of the region in the coming years.
At peak bloom, Carpathia took the stage to entertain and warm the crowd while showing off Hopak and other Ukrainian, Polish and Macedonian dances.
In the Spring of 2018, we had the great privilege of dancing for some of our family back home when Voice of America Ukraine did this piece on our group.

The Carpathia Folk Dance Ensemble is comprised entirely of volunteers. We dance because we love these cultures, we love these stages, and we love the people.
If you fit that bill, contact us and we would love to have you! No dance experience necessary! We’ll teach you all of the steps. We are always recruiting new and enthusiastic dancers.
Thank You For Visiting!
We hope to see you soon, until then keep dancing, keep loving, and be well.
